Deaf v.s deaf

This is an important subject matter. Not all people with hearing loss identify the same way. The difference between “Deaf” (with a capitalized ‘D’) and “deaf” (with a lowercase ‘d’) is that Deaf refers to a person’s cultural identity as a member of the Deaf community, while, deaf refers to a person who lacks hearing or who is hearing impaired.
